The Boston Kings Week 2 PLL Spring League Recap

The Boston Kings stay hot in PLL Week 2 play!

More great competition this weekend and some great finishes lead to an 8-1-1 record in Premier Lacrosse League week 2!

See below for game recaps and Player of the Game recipients!

  • Boston Kings 2028 Blue: A long trip up to play The NH Tomahawks was worth it for our 3rd graders! Coach Nutley’s squad gave a wire to wire effort and closed it out with a 15-8 win!
    • Player of the Game: Ryan Merrill (Hingham Youth Lax)
  • Boston Kings 2027 Blue: Coach McGuirk lent a hand on the sidelines this week and was very impressed by the depth and effort of this team. They improved every quarter and earned a nice W vs an athletic and well coached Central Kings squad.
    • Player of the Game: Colin Murray (Duxbury Youth Lacrosse)
  • Boston Kings 2026 Green: ANOTHER double-header up north and still undefeated! Coach Tierney is getting tired of the travel, but not of the results!
    • Game One was a complete win vs Houlagans ( 9-3).
      • Player of the Game: Cam McKenna (Hingham Youth Lax)
    • Game Two was an absolute dogfight vs The Twisters… Ending in a 4-4 tie.
      • Player of the Game: Pat Geary – (Scituate Youth Lax)
  • Boston Kings 2026 Blue: Coach Day’s squad came out slow and fell behind a scorching hot Central Kings team by 5 goals. But they were able to claw their way back in the second half and take the W, 9-6.
    • Player of the Game: Logan Perry (Plymouth Youth Lax)
  • Boston Kings 2025 Green: Coach Weck and O’Neil’s squad notched their first W of the spring with a complete effort and 10-7 victory vs Central Kings.
    • Player of the Game: Caleb McKeown (Plymouth Youth Lacrosse)
  • Boston Kings 2025 Blue: The Heart-Attack kids, pulled off another 1-goal win. This on in OT! Coach Traynor loving the no-quit attitude of this team, but stressing the need to execute better from beginning to end.
    • Player of the Game: Brook Strachan (Hingham Youth Lax)
  • Boston Kings 2024 Blue: With basically no subs on the bench (isn’t hockey supposed to be over?!), Coach Quinn’s squad took care of business with a nice 7-1 win over The Houlagans.
    • Player of the Game: Charlie Booras (Norwell Youth Lax)
  • Boston Kings 2023 Green: Coach Daley’s squad also picked up their first win of the spring with a strong 8-3 win vs NH Tomahawks Gold team.
    • Player of the Game: Shane Murphy (Hingham Youth Lax)
  • Boston Kings 2023 Blue: Coach McGuirk and Maroney’s team was dismantled by a strong (and well coached) Central Kings squad. No time to dwell on the past… Another tough match-up this Saturday (NH Tomahawks) in what is shaping up to be a loaded 6-team division. You don’t bring it every week, you could lose 12-5 like we did Saturday!
    • Player of the Game: Ryan Daly (Norwell Youth Lax)

Important Spring Notes:

  • Boston Kings spring league play does not conflict with town lacrosse. In the spring, we want all players giving their town teams priority and getting the most out of all the great things that town lax offers.
  • The PLL Spring League is an invite-only club league featuring most of the top club programs in New England.
    • Notably: Kings Lacrosse (all 4 regions), New Hampshire Tomahawks, 3d New England, New England Twisters, Rhode Island Bulldogs, and Houlagans (NH).
